About Us

When we began in 1945, members consumed an average of 155 kilowatt hours per month. Now the average is over 1,200 kilowatt hours per month. Today, Gascosage Electric Cooperative serves over 7,400 members and is playing an important role in developing the rural county’s burgeoning industrial economy.

Over the years, GEC’s Board and Management have strived to provide quality electric services at the lowest possible cost.

Because we’re a locally owned business, our operation isn’t influenced by stockholders or out-of-state interests. In fact, the people who influence our business decisions are the people we serve…our member-owners.

The foundation of our cooperative in everything that we do, is to offer more responsive and reliable programs and services to our members. But we carry this beyond the boundaries of our own business, for we believe that to truly serve our members, we must also serve our community.
